Whether you have a WiFi network or a wired network, it is likely that on more than one occasion someone has tried to access it. There are numerous programs capable of detecting all those intruders of a given network, being AirSnare one of the most effective.
The reason for this is the use of the libraries known as WinPCap and Ethereal, thanks to which the program is able to detect any unauthorized use. The AirSnare interface is divided into two modules. The first one offers a list of relevant events, with all DNS and DHCP requests taking special prominence. On the other hand, the second module has all the connections detected next to the network adapters.
It should be noted that AirSnare is not able to detect which connection is allowed to use the network. Therefore, after completing the corresponding connection scan, you must mark the connections that can use all the online functions by clicking on the "Add to Trusted" button.
After detecting intrusive connections, you can perform two useful actions: send a message whose reception is conditional on the user having a Windows operating system, and observe a complete history showing all the activities performed.
